I have this thing about old and mysterious buildings. My imagination sparks up when the opportunity to stand in a historic space presents, to imagine how its inhabitants lived in a time long passed. There is something so magical about exploring an old building. So when the opportunity arose to design the florals for a styled shoot at an intriguing local venue (cue The Grange ) I could not say no.
Situated in rolling Hampshire countryside, The Grange really is a totally unique and alluring space. It’s also used as a venue for Opera, parts of the crumbling walls and floors are painted with theatrical murals, making each room have its own personality. It’s a foremost example of Greek Revival architecture in this fine land, and whilst the exterior is bold and imposing against the landscape, its the interior that opens up many possibilities for magic!
The Shoot was recently featured on Rock My Wedding, and here’s what they had to say :
”We don’t know about you but our Instagram feed is filling up with more and more dark and moody wedding inspiration, and we simply can’t get enough. That’s why we just have to show you this delicious ‘deep floral’ inspiration shoot planned and styled by Wed+Bash. Sara Lincoln catches the mysterious light to perfection and the luxurious floral designs by the incredible JenniBloom really are a marvel. Add some intricate bridal gowns, fabulous hair and makeup, not to mention accessories and you’re about to enjoy jawdropping beauty”
Thank you to Jess of Wed & Bash for planning and organizing the shoot, and to Sara for spellbinding photography (they were epic enough to become the backdrop to my website) . And to everyone involved – it was a treat to be a part of this team. Full supplier credits at the foot of this post.
Without further a’do……………
